FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Image Graphics awarded patent on breakthrough Printed Circuit Board Tester

U.S. Patent 6,359,351 awarded for Contactless Electrical Tester

April 1, 2002 -- Image Graphics today announced that it's breakthrough Printed Circuit Board Tester was awarded a patent from the U.S. Patent Office.

The Contactless Electrical Tester promises to test PCBs faster, cheaper, and more accurately than current technologies, by at least an order of magnitude.

"We believe the contactless electrical tester will revolutionize the PCB testing marketplace," IGI President and CEO Pat Grosso said.  "Electron beam allows faster testing of higher density printed circuit boards, making the technology perfect for the coming generation of PCBs and microelectronics."

Using IGI's industry leading electron beam technology, the PCB tester can test bare boards, as well as populated circuit boards at very high densities.  The tester's advantages include:

bulletSpeed: It is 30 times faster than existing bed of nails testers and 600 times faster than flying probe testers.
bulletCost: Electron Beam PCB Testers avoid using the disposable fixtures that traditional PCB testers use - these cost more than $1 million per machine annually for traditional machines.
bulletQualityElectron Beam PCB testers can test much higher density printed circuit than existing technologies.

IGI will begin searching for a partner immediately to bring the technology to market.
