IGI's Advanced Electron Beam Technology Development

IGI's engineering team includes some of the world's leading experts in electron beam technology and applications.  We have several advanced products under development that extend our existing electron beam technology and patents into new applications.

Electron Beam PCB Testers

IGI's Electron Beam Tester, Patent 6,359,351 (Awarded March 19, 2002)

We have developed and been awarded a patent to create contactless, electrical tester for printed circuit board bare substrates.  IGI has also recently completed a Phase 1 SBIR Contract with Hill AFB, Utah, which demonstrated proof of concept of electron beam technology to test populated PCBs.  This new technology has several advantages over existing technologies, including:

bulletHigher Throughput: 600 times faster than flying probe testers and 30 times faster than bed of nails testers.
bulletNo Fixtures Needed: Electron Beam PCB Testers avoid using disposable fixtures, which can cost more than $1 million per machine annually for traditional machines.
bulletHandle High Density Boards: Electron Beam PCB testers can test boards with much higher density than existing technologies.
